What to do when your delivery is delayed

Traffic, rain and switched-off phones happen. Here is how to check the real status, who to call and what the desk can actually do.

A delayed parcel is frustrating, especially when someone is waiting. Most delays are short and fixable. A few minutes of clear information usually gets the parcel moving faster than repeated calls to the rider.

First, check the tracking page

Open Track Orders and enter the order number. The status tells you where the parcel is in the process. If it still says Confirmed, the rider may not have reached the pickup point yet. If it says Picked up, the parcel is with a rider and the delay is on the road.

The result also shows the receiver's phone number. Make sure it is correct and reachable. A rider who cannot get through at the gate will hold the parcel and call the desk.

Call the desk with three details

Call 0256035454 or message WhatsApp with:

  • the order number,
  • the pickup area,
  • the receiver's phone number.

With those three, dispatch can see who has the parcel and contact them directly. You do not need to describe the whole booking again.

The common causes

  • Traffic or a road closure. The rider reroutes; the status may sit still while that happens.
  • Receiver unreachable. The rider waits, then returns the parcel to the desk for another attempt.
  • Address mismatch. The landmark given at booking does not match where the receiver actually is.
  • Weather. Heavy rain slows bikes and can pause loading at the warehouse.
  • Parcel size. The item is larger than described and needs a different vehicle.

Each cause has a different fix. The desk can reassign a rider, arrange a second attempt or hold the parcel safely. What the desk cannot do is make a switched-off phone ring.

What not to do

Do not send a different rider or a friend to intercept the parcel without telling the desk. Two people claiming the same parcel at the same gate creates a worse delay. Do not ask the receiver to keep calling the rider directly either; the desk coordinates the run and knows the full route.

If the parcel is time-critical

Tell the desk at booking, not after the delay. Medicine, food and event supplies can be flagged for priority handling. For intercity parcels, ask for the departure schedule before you promise a delivery time. A realistic promise prevents most of the difficult calls.

Most delays end with a parcel delivered and an apology. The ones that go badly are usually the ones where nobody told the desk what changed. Keep the order number handy and call early.
