Same-day or intercity: choosing the right service

Accra same-day is one thing; Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi and Tamale are another. A plain guide to timings, handovers and when to use the warehouse instead.

Not every parcel should be booked the same way. The service you choose decides the price, the route and how often you will need to check in. Here is how the three main options differ.

Same-day inside Accra

Same-day is for parcels that start and finish in Accra. A rider collects, rides directly and hands over, usually within a few hours. The Yenkor flat rate of GHS35 covers the trip regardless of the neighbourhood.

Use same-day when the receiver is at the delivery address now and the parcel is small enough for a bike. Documents, food, medicine, spare parts and online orders all fit. Book before the afternoon rush to avoid the tight end of the day.

Intercity across Ghana

Intercity moves parcels between Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale and other towns. The parcel is consolidated, handed to the intercity run and tracked at each handover. It is priced by destination and weight, not by the Accra flat rate.

Use intercity when the receiver does not need it within the hour and the value of the parcel justifies tracked handling. Because the parcel changes hands, pack it for a longer journey: a proper seal, a clear label and enough cushioning to survive being loaded more than once.

Timing depends on the route and the departure schedule. Ask the desk for the next available run before you promise a delivery time to your customer.

Warehouse fulfilment

If you sell regularly, booking each order by hand becomes the slow part. Our Accra warehouse receives your stock, stores it, picks and packs each order and hands it to the last mile. You send us the order details; we send the parcel out.

Use fulfilment when you have repeat orders, limited storage at home, or a team that should be selling rather than wrapping. It also gives you one place to check stock and dispatch instead of a bedroom full of cartons.

A simple way to decide

  • Receiver in Accra today, parcel fits on a bike: same-day.
  • Receiver in another city: intercity.
  • Many orders a week from the same stock: warehouse fulfilment.
  • Fragile, high-value or unusually large: call the desk first so the right vehicle is assigned.

The cheapest option is the one that matches the job. Sending a same-day rider to Kumasi wastes money; sending a birthday gift on a three-day consolidation misses the birthday. Tell the desk what the parcel is for and we will point you to the right service.
